Women At Mid-life
Mid-life involves many changes and potential losses: our bodies begin changing, our lives are changing (children are growing up, parents are dying or needing caretaking...), the loss of youth so valued in our culture.
Concurrently, our psychological defenses are not working as well and unresolved feelings from the past and the present begin to surface and be felt as never before, often producing anxiety and/or depression.
It also begins to dawn on us that we don’t have forever; that we are near or even beyond the midpoint of our lives. This realization often results in some form of life review and a greater sense of urgency regarding what we want to accomplish or experience in our lives.
Counseling explores this exciting time and supports women in reclaiming themselves and their vitality, wisdom and power.
