Yoga for Well-being
The benefits of yoga are now well documented. The Center for Disease Control now acknowledges that over 90% of all illnesses are stress induced and/or exacerbated. We also know that the 2 main factors that most compromise our health and produce dis-ease, as well as, disease are stress and toxicity. Yoga addresses both of these. Yoga facilitates detoxification through increased respiration, circulation, compression and massaging of organs, and lymphatic drainage. Yoga also offsets the effects of stress.
When we are stressed, the body’s reaction is to tense the body and hold the breath or shift to shallow breathing. Yoga relaxes tense muscles, promotes relaxation, and teaches deep, diaphragmatic breathing all of which turn off the stress response. Eileen’s coaching in yoga assists people in establishing a personal practice designed to meet their individual needs. She provides personal instruction in the basic practices: breath awareness and breathing techniques (pranayama), body awareness and body scanning, basic stretches and asanas, systematic relaxation and meditation.
Eileen is a certified yoga instructor through the Himalayan Institute and registered with the Yoga Alliance.
