Meditation

Eileen has been a practicing meditator for the past 18 years.  She is also a Himalayan Institute certified yoga instructor.  Learning to meditate is a process that involves the body, the breath and the mind.  In her coaching, Eileen works with people to develop a meditation practice that meets their personal needs and is meaningful to them. 

Meditation incorporates 2 skills:  concentration and mindfulness.  Both are addressed in the coaching.  There are many forms of meditation and every mystical tradition has established their own unique style.  Eileen draws from experience in traditional yogic mantra meditation, mindfulness meditation and the centering prayer tradition.  With practice we develop the ability to detach from our prevailing thoughts and emotions and access the Witness. 

In activating the Witness, we open to a more spacious awareness that allows us to unplug from automatic pilot (old, programmed knee jerk reactions) and have the ability to choose how we wish to respond.  This opens the door to self-regulation and personal empowerment.
